Awards and Sammans -

State Government is incessant in its effort to recognize and promote the champions in the different fields of art and culture:

a) Banga Bhushan and Banga Bibhushan Awards:

The State government has initiated these awards as the highest Civilian honour conferred upon distinguished persons of eminence, who have excelled in different fields of human endeavor, covering art & culture, literature, Public Administration & Public Service etc.

b) Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman, 2023:

To promote the indigenous art & culture of Bengal and maintain peace & tranquility during the festive season of Bengal, the State Government has conferred ‘Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman’ to different Puja organizers throughout the State. Different categories of ‘Sharad Samman’ were conferred upon 100 different Puja committees of Kolkata and 300 other puja committees from the Districts to encourage celebration of Durga Puja with grandeur.

c) Shanti Gopal & Tapan Kumar Puraskar:

Shanti Gopal & Tapan Kumar Puraskar are conferred upon eminent Jatra artistes in the inaugural programme of the Jatra Utsav held at Ektara mancha on 24th January 2023.

d) Tele Samman Award Ceremony:

For felicitating actors/technicians of Television for their outstanding performance, this award ceremony is being held every year. The Award Ceremony took place at Dhanadhanya auditorium, Alipore.

e) Mahanayak Uttam Kumar Award Ceremony:

The Award ceremony was held on 24th July every year in a grand manner. Eminent film personalities were felicitated in this award ceremony.

Awards of different Academies :

for contribution in the fields of literature, culture, fine arts, folk-arts, Awards of different Academies have been conferred upon on 26th May every year in the programme of Birth Anniversary of Kazi Nazrul Islam on 26th May or Annual Festival of concerned Academy:
