The Information and Cultural Affairs Department was conceived with a view for the preservation and promotion of unique and vibrant heritage of Bengal and Bengali intellect.

This Department has intricately been involved with the timely and effective dissemination of messages of the Government to the public, which it serves.

Mission & Vision

Vision:

Instrumentation of information and vibrant cultural heritage of Bengal to achieve the zenith of mutual understandings, respect and achievements as well as to keep up the intention of Biswabangla.

Mission:

Citizen centric dissemination of information to develop awareness on basic needs and duties in socio-economic arena to uplift the all-square profiles of commoners;
Publish and provide necessary information to citizens for availing different services and facilities as and when provided by the State;
Spread out the cultural aroma of Bengal through exhibition, exploration and exchange of the treasures therein;
Rejuvenating the dying arts and cultures of Bengal and evolving the process of its restoration in mainstream;
Nourishing research and development of different forms of existing arts and culture by providing necessary infrastructure and facilities;
Developing the celluloid vibes of Bengal;
Exploration of archeological remains, restoration of ethnographic and historical structures and catering the glorious past of Bengal for generations in roll.
